Welcome to IC Engineering
We would like to become your one stop shop for all things "Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance".
We're not the biggest, and we're not the best, but we are passionate about all things CVR.
We're not looking for sponsers, and we're not trying to sell you anything. We just want you interest and perhaps some of your time.
We've got a good team, with relevant time on courses down at Bovington, as well as plenty of experience in the field with this equipment.

on. As CVR owners, we like to think we are doing our bit, to continue the legacy of this great series of Britsh military vehicles.
We're based near London, UK, but CVR is now an international community. With vehicles exported all round the world.
This isn't our 9-5 but a hobby, So please feel free to contact us, but it may take us a little while to respond.
We do try to keep the enclosed information as relevant and correct as possible. If you think we have got something wrong please feel free to contract us and we will look into it.

CVRW Fox
CVRT Scimitar
Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance (Wheeled).
CVR(W) is a series of wheeled British armoured reconnaissance vehicles, developed in the 1960's and manufactured during the 1970's & 80's
At one stage a full series of vehicles were concevied, but only the CVR(W) Fox found its way into production. The Fox was designed by Daimler, so could be argued is a development from the late Mk 4 & 5 Ferret Scout car. Which was developed around the same time.
Although designed by Daimler, the Production contract was awarded to the Royal Ordinance Factory (ROF) in Leeds. All in all 15 Prototypes were manufactured for trials and the final production run was a further 356 vehicles. production started in 1972 and continued into the 1980's.
Although refered to a reconnaissance vehicle during its life, it was actually designed to be a liaison / scout Vehicle similar to the ferret and grew into the recce / internal security role.
Although used by the Light infantry and Household cavalry in the Airbourne reconnaissance role, the CVR(W) Fox is best know to the units of the Yeomanry (such as Royal Yeomanry or Queens own Yeomanry).
Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance (Tracked).
CVR(T) is a series of Tracked British armoured reconnaissance vehicles, developed in the 1960's and manufactured during the 1970's & 80's.
Unlike CVR(W), CVR(T) was developed into a full series of CVR vehicles, as required to cover most roles in the Royal Armoured Corp. As well as some specialised engineering, infantry and air defence roles.
The whole CVR(T) series was designed and manufactured by Alvis. All in all 17 Prototypes were manufactured for trials and the final UK production run was a further 1850 vehicles. CVR(T) was also built in Belguim (Malines) where a further 700 Vehicles were produced.
Unlike CVR(W) which only had a limited export market to Africa & the Middle east, CVR(T) sold a lot better to many foreign states. Production commences in May 1970 and continued into the 1980's, with further Prototypes of new models being developed even later than that.
The intial series included, Fire Support (Scorpion), Anti-APC (Scimitar), APC (Spartan), ARV (Samson), Anti-Tank (Striker), ACV (Sultan) and Ambulance (Samaritan).
Although used in the UK and by the RAF, CVR(T) was mostly a BAOR (British Army On the Rhine) Vehicle.
